What do I want to do???

I am currently in Obstetric nursing right now.  I am so excited every time I go to class or go to an L&D unit.  I know that I will Love, Love, Love L&D.  I have gotten a chance to experience postpartum, which was a little slow, but I felt very comfortable with the nursery, breastfeeding, and handling that population.
BUT, I also really liked ICU.  I feel like it really allowed me to use my brain and to rely on the part of my personality that likes details and to learn everyday.

I guess I need to do a positives/negatives list, right?  Here goes!

ICU - positive
- Challenge
- Use my knowledge
- Get to intimately care for patients
- ratios allow for attention to minute changes
- Usually there for a while, able to become familiar

ICU - negative
- Stress
- Dying
- Patients may not be alert and able to talk

L&D - positive
- Happiness
- Familiarity of conditions
- Lower stress level

L&D - negative
- repetitive
- very specific knowledge base
- quick turnover
- i've heard it can be boring at times

Gosh, I just don't know.  I am thinking I will go to Med-Surg for a little bit before I decide.  This will give me a chance to hone in on my time management/organizational skills, learn about different types of tests, labs, procedures that I didn't learn much about in school.   I will also get to use my teaching skills to their fullest ability.

AND, I don't even have a place that I REALLY want to work.  Goodness, I thought I would have more figured out by now.
