Here they are.....Short term:
- gain telemetry experience (or Versant experience/training)
- become NRP certified (UC Davis has one a month)
- attend ALSO training and certification in Salinas in October
- learn organizational skills and knowledge about meds, procedures, hospital policies
Mid term:
- Transfer to L&D in one year
- attend AWHONN conference
- Cross train PP/Nursery/OR
- Pass RNc
- Complete ACLS-OB certification (boise)
- Complete BSN (chamberlain)
Long term:
- Obtain Master's degree (WHNP/Midwife)
- Try my hand in teaching (hospital based or university based)?
- Get involved in volunteer work with young mothers/preterm babies health
The more I think about it, the more I feel I would take a position in L&D over getting experience in telemetry.....if there were any way that I could do L&D full time and telemetry per diem/casual, I would love that.....allowing me to fully embrace L&D while slowly but surely expanding my M/S knowledge. Yea right, what hospital is going to pay to train me when they know I don't want to work there very long.
