I got a response from Rae. She forwarded my e-mail to Pam Mahal (L&D Director) with a high recommendation, but as it turns out, she is adhering to no new grads in L&D bc of the litigious nature of the unit. Eva told me that she thinks there were some new grads allowed and some mistakes were made.So, it appears that I will begin my nursing career in telemetry, which I am okay with, but with that being said, I will heavily consider accepting positions:
- Lodi memorial new grad residency
- Dr's Manteca/Modesto Versant
- Any L&D position
I will make that decision when I come to it.
Dameron is supposed to be rebuilding the hospital with an entire floor dedicated as a Family Maternity Center with the L&D, PP and nursery all together, which I think is essential. I am adamant about getting cross-trained in all OB units for my education, patient safety and to become a more marketable nurse.
Next submission.........GOALS!
